I have been a client of Apple Valley Counseling for six months and would like to share my opinion and experience about this state certified program.
Apple Valley’s belief is that alcohol and substance dependency is a progressive disease that affects the whole person, mentally and physically- ever increasing until the bottom of life or death occurs.
I came to this clinic as a full blown alcoholic with no intention of living much longer. I was angry, and in denial-the courts were my only motivation at that point. It was the game I had to play to be legal to drink again someday-a sure death.
I started with the Intensive Outpatient Program three days a week with Bill and Charlotte. Charlotte would facilitate Tuesdays and Thursdays and Bill would engage us on Wednesday nights. This was a combination of expertise that eventually saved my life.
Their focus was sound together with two different approaches. They both promoted a “family atmosphere” that opened a trust among the group which fostered honest healthy interaction.
Bill was straight forward with the concepts of building the foundation and the steps to achieve a healthy sobriety. His expectations for us were fair but firm. He always left us with task to work on or a thought provoking questions to make us think about our recovery. He would start his next session with is by following up on where we left off. This was very good for our group-Bill takes his job seriously. Charlotte, on the other hand, approached us with a silent confidence. Her expectations for us were also demanding. She groomed us for our honesty attempts to satisfy or STEPS in a thoughtful way. She always made it clear that our heart and mind needed to blend together to reach the necessary strengths to beat the disease. She always told us that it was of “upmost importance” to make that connection.
Finally, I would like to share that I witnessed a high percentage of our group members “buy in” to the Apple Valley philosophy and are happy they came her for treatment. You have convinced many of us to continue our sobriety by giving us the REAL DEAL.
I commend both Bill and Charlotte (and staff) for their professional and sincere support for the needs of people like me. You both put your heart into it- and it makes the difference.

My time at Apple Valley Counseling has been a great experience. The friendly envierment and positive outlook make for a good stepping stone into recovery. My life has changed for the better getting sober from drugs and alcohol with the help of Apple Valley. I have been sober for two years and cannot describe the great differences in my life. The counselors know how to help you cope with cravings and other obstacles while battling chemicals. It is a tough rode to take getting clean but we all need some help and I was able to deal with issues that caused me to use and confront them with the help from my counselors. If I was recommended an affordable, essential step towards recovery I would suggest an evaluation at Apple Valley Counseling Services.

My decision to open the phone book and I had heard people talk about Triumph. At first I was going to take a chance but tumbling through the pages and happen to see Apple Valley Counseling and had a good instinct and gave a call and heard a polite voice on the end not a sigh say so-n-so. I heard a good afternoon and got me an assessment right away not a certain like Mondays. And I was honest about my “1997” days. I felt at ease cuz I’m usually to be awhile to open up but everyone is a considerate person, but glad to be here.

I enjoy seeing all of my group mates. They always seem to know exactly what to say when I need someone to bring me back to the circle of sobriety. The counselor is sweet and always has good uplifting comments for me. They also try and work with your financial situations to help with payments.
